Day 32: Why No Grits?

By: Lynnette Camon

We are well into The Jesus Fast corporately and individually. Our relationship with our Father is being strengthened and we are being drawn closer to Him as we seek his face.

Preparation is one of the most powerful actions we can take when seeking God’s face.  It was one of the first things shared with us as a way to enter into this time of fasting and prayer. This puts us on full alert and ready for the things to come.

1Peter 1:13
13 Therefore, preparing your minds for action, and being sober-minded, set your hope fully on the grace that will be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ.

Before the fast, while working in the cafe, I noticed some chose not to eat or drink before service and I did not understand.  I was curious to know WHY NO GRITS or even a cup of coffee….what???  After talking with someone who made this choice, I then understood that they were fasting, which prepared their heart and mind for worship and receiving The Word.  In this season of fasting, the same sacrifice was taught to us. We must enter into His presence ready to receive the pouring out of His Love.

This fast is truly powerful and unique. There is support among us and global agreement for the unity of the Body of Christ.  It is making a difference in our lives, families and the world! Yes, even in a time such as this, God is working and He hears our prayers.  Let us continue to prepare our hearts and minds for God to move in our lives as only He can. Share the Gospel of Jesus Christ with the world and always remember who we are….WE ARE THE CHURCH!

John 14:3
3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am you may be also.

Thank you Jesus!
