“And so, dear brothers and sisters,f we can boldly enter heaven’s Most Holy Place because of the blood of Jesus. By his death,g Jesus opened a new and life-giving way through the curtain into the Most Holy Place.” Hebrews 10:19-20
Do you have somewhere in your home? A “No No” place, a “Pretty Room” a “Man Cave”, in other words, a place that is sacred to you? I remember one of my Great Aunts had a “No No” room, that meant you could look but not touch! As you can imagine, it was very challenging and tempting for that 6 year old me! When I played sports the locker room was a sacred place, that meant only coaches and team members were allowed; it was holy to us (holy with a lower case “h”). Pre-game, half time and post-game talks were held there, meaning no one else was privy.
What if we had a scared place and time for talking to God, a place that is Holy, set apart just for Him? How would our days, our life, change? Like most, we all have busy lives and distractions, and finding that place or time can be challenging, to say the least. As a church family, we have designated these 40 days of our Jesus Fast as a sacred time; we’ve bonded together in prayer Monday-Friday at 6:45 am, as well as, every Tuesday evening at 6:30. Just this last week, Pastor Manny and Pastor Victoria have designated Monday – Friday nights at 7:00 pm a Devotional time, making it available on FB live. We have ample opportunity and more time now so we should have fewer excuses. Have we become intentional with our involvement? Intentionality requires a choice…do you have a burning desire to change, to see your loved ones come to know and follow Jesus, to reach more lives with the gospel than ever before? How is this time in history going to change us and our world? It will change for the better if we, His people who are called by His name “will humble ourselves and pray and seek His face and turn from our wicked ways, then He will hear from heaven and will forgive our sins and will heal (restore) our land.”
DLC, let’s make this time count for His Kingdom! We are stronger, together…
